Stephen Little has recently (Feb 2010) been appointed as Head of Painting at the National Art School. He was one of our first Grantees in 1988. WFF Secretary, Robin Wines, simulates the award event, while Trevor Andersen and Eula Guthrie look on. (Photo Lawrence Finn)

Guy Maestri wins 2009 Achibald prize
This portrait of blind aboriginal singer, Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunipingu has won the Archibals Prize in 2009.
It was painted by Guy Maestri, who received a grant from the William Fletcher Trust in 2002.

Born in Mudgee, NSW in 1974, Maestri completed a Bachelor of Fine Art (Hons) in painting at the National Art School, Darlinghurst in 2003. He has had solo exhibitions at the Tim Olsen Gallery and was a finalist in the 2007 and 2008 Dobell Drawing Prize. |
