WFR 2011 Presentation of applicant’s work

A.   Initial application and PowerPoint presentation

1. Completing the application  Your completed Application Form must be accompanied by:

    (i) a CD-ROM containing a PowerPoint presentation of  ten (10) jpeg images of your work (painting, drawing, sculpture), of which at least 5 must show your talent in painting or drawing;

    (ii) a list of the images that are in the presentation (see 2. below);

    (iii) a sheet with the names of two professional referees*, and their contact details;

    (iv) at least two professional references** (including the above two, and any others) in sealed envelopes if preferred;

    (v) a non-refundable entry fee of $20 (includes GST), either by cheque, made payable to William Fletcher Foundation, or by money-order;

    (vi) [optional] an adequate stamped and self-addressed envelope/ container (for return of your CD-ROM after judging).

    ( vii) [optional] a Curriculum Vitae showing your activities in the last 2 years only; a statement (half page or less) indicating the reasons you would like to study in Rome.

    * Professional Referees: Each might be an artist, art teacher/academic, art critic, gallery owner, or curator.  No individual (or entity such as a Gallery) may recommend more than two (2) applicants. 
    ** Do not include merely character references.  It is in your interests to obtain the best professional referees you can.

All items must be submitted by the closing date, Friday 2 JULY 2010, together and at one time, so ensure that your application is complete. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

2Image list  The image list must be headed by your name; the images are to be numbered in order of presentation. This list is both to accompany the application and to be included as a document on the CD-ROM.

On this list, those works which will be available for finalist consideration (September 2010, see B. below) should be marked F.  These works should be of reasonable size: one dimension up to 1.5 metres, other(s) up to one metre.

3.  Identification of images  Each image should be photographed against a neutral background, and should aim to fill the slide-frame.
However, each slide should also show:


title (including such titles as Untitled 4); medium; dimensions in cm (two-dimensional work: height before width; sculpture: height);  date of execution or completion.

B. Subsequent presentation

4Shortlist  If you are shortlisted as a finalist, you will be asked to deliver two (2) works for display and adjudication during Septemebr 2010.   These will be chosen by the panel from works on your image list marked F (available, within size limits).
